She would meet me in the morning

On my way down to the river

With her feet already dusty

Id pay her no attention

As she tagged along beside me

我忍不住笑了，可我轉過頭去笑，我可不要被她看到我的笑容
When Id hear somebody saying

看阿，Jody又和那個小孩在一起了
Even after we grew older
直到我們都長大了好幾歲以後
We could still be seen together
我們還是這樣形影不離
As we walked along the levee holding hands
不過我們是牽著手並肩走在水壩旁的那條小路上
For as surely as the season she was changing to a woman
如今她早已成長為成熟的女人
And Id lived enough to call myself a man
我也自認為是個成熟的男人
And she often lay beside me
當夜晚開始變涼的時候
In the coolness of the evening
她都會擠在我身旁躺下
Till the morning sun was shining on my bed

Cause theres houses where they didnt used to be
這裡也新建了不少房子
And on Sundays I go walking

With another little girl who follows me
換成另一個可愛的小女孩跟在我身後
And it makes the old folks smile
我的老鄰居們笑瞇瞇地看著我們
To see her tag along beside me
看著那個小女孩緊緊跟著我
Doing little things the way her mama did
那模樣就像當年她的媽媽一樣
But it gets a little lonesome
不過我突然有些惆悵和一點點的失落

因為現在人們口中那個Jody身邊的小孩不再是我了，不過也還好，畢竟這個小孩是我和Jody的孩子
