Where I come from
我出生的地方
It's a land of many islands
是一片島嶼繁多的土地
Two rivers run to the east and to the west
兩條長河分別向西東流去
Wanted to run far away as I could as fast as I could get
曾經的我拼了命般地想離開這裡
No matter where I've been
但無論我去向了哪裡
Can't escape who I am or forget
都逃不開也忘不掉我最原始的存在
Where I come from

Paint is peeling all the time
牆皮的漆常年脫落
Winter's long, gets into your boots
冬天很長我習慣穿一雙靴子
The river runs high and wild
江河奔流湧過激湍馳行
High and wild in the springtime
春日融雪的時候尤其迅猛
Stories come through our faded little town
故事啊也從這逐漸褪色的小鎮裡流出
When the sun shines
陽光照耀下熠熠生輝
Veterans
退伍的老兵
The veterans of all the past wars
那些過去參與過戰爭的老人
Sit outside on a Sunday afternoon
週日下午會出門坐坐
The mills closed down long ago
很久以前啊磨坊就關門大吉了
So we're way past unemployment
很多人從那時就失業了直到現在
A good bad joke somebody told on our town
我們的小鎮就被人們當作笑話一般講著
For their enjoyment
淪為了他們的笑柄
The September sun
九月的暖陽下
Colors boldly flying
四處是鮮豔的色彩
Pretty reds, orange, gold, and brown
美麗的紅橙金褐
Most beautiful as the light is dying
當夕陽西斜時顯得格外美麗
Most beautiful as the day goes down
當一天結束時顯得尤其動人
