The lady sits in her own front door
這邊女孩前門坐
As straight as the willow wand,

And by there come a lusty smith

So the lady she held up her hand,

The blacksmith was her mate.

So she became a full-dressed ship
女孩搖身變小船
And she sailed on the sea;
海上張滿帆
But he became a bold captain
鐵匠就成禿船長
And aboard of her went he.
登上她甲板

Theres nowhere you can hide.

So the lady she ran into the bedroom
女孩搖身變床鋪
And she changed into a bed;
臥室牆上靠
But he became a green coverlet
鐵匠就成綠床罩
And he gained her maidenhead.
奪了她貞操
And was she woke he held her so
女孩醒來無處藏
And still he bade her bide;
鐵匠懷裡躺
And the lusty smith became her love
終究無法恃清高
For all her mighty pride.
