Just then,a duck came wadding round.
一隻鴨子搖搖擺擺地走過來
She was glad that Peter had not closed the gate and decided to take a nice swim in the deep pond in the meadow.
彼得沒有關門，所以她很高興，決定去牧場裡的深水池遊個痛快
Seeing the duck,the little bird flew down upon the grass,settled next to her and shrugged her shoulders.
小鳥看見鴨子，就飛到鴨子旁邊的草地上，擺出一副鄙夷的樣子
“What kind of bird are you if you can't fly?” said he.
“你連飛都不會，也配做鳥？”他說
To this, the duck replied,”What kind of bird are you if you can't swim.”
鴨子反擊：“你連游泳都不會，也不配做鳥。”
And he dived into the pond.
然後他跳進了池塘
They argued and argued,the duck swimming in the pond,the little bird hopping along the shore.
他們吵來吵去，鴨子一直在池塘里遊，小鳥一直在池塘邊跳
