It Is A Beateous Evening

It is a beauteous evening, calm and free,
這是一個美妙的黃昏安詳而從容
The holy time is quiet as a Nun
神聖的時辰安靜得像一位
Breathless with adoration ; the broad sun
因崇敬而屏住呼吸的修女醒目的太陽
Is sinking down in its tranquility;
正在這樣的寧靜中西沉
The gentleness of heaven broods oer the Sea;
天堂的柔和籠罩著海面
Listen! the mighty Being is awake,
聽強大的生命醒來了
And doth with his eternal motion make
雷一樣的聲音在
A sound like thunder—everlastingly.
永不停息地滾動
Dear child! dear Girl! that walkest with me here,
親愛的孩子親愛的姑娘走到我身旁
If thou appear untouched by solemn thought,
假如你沒有被莊嚴的思想感動
Thy nature is not therefore less divine:
那也無損於你聖潔的天性
Thou liest in Abrahams bosom all the year;
你一直都待在亞伯拉罕的心裡
And worshippst at the Temples inner shrine,
如同在神殿的中心朝拜
God being with thee when we know it not.
上帝出乎意料地與你同在
